When planning a wedding it can be tempting to invite everyone that you know to come to the celebration and share in your happiness. While that can make for a very fun party it can also be brutal on the budget. Set firm rules for yourselves about whom to invite. Divide your initial list into categories: family, extended family, close friends, people from out of town, etc. This will help you to narrow your focus. If you can’t work it in your budget to allow all of your guests to bring dates, or to include all of the people that your parents suggest that you include, make that clear in the beginning stages of your planning. You may not be able to invite everyone that you originally wanted to but you can be certain that the people who are there are the ones you really want to celebrate with.
